Now that Audi has released new versions of the Q7 and Q5 SUVs, the next model in line for a redo is the small Q3. Audi hasn’t released any details about the next-generation Audi Q3, but there are reports that it could arrive as soon as mid-2018.

Auto Motor und Sport is reporting that the next-generation Q3 will arrive in a year and to differentiate it from the Q2, the new Q3 will be longer and wider with a longer wheelbase. Under the skin, the new Q3 will ride on VW Group’s MQB platform, which should help it drop a few pounds.

The reduced weight should result in a fuel efficiency improvement of around 20 percent. The SQ3 will be powered by a 2.5L five-cylinder with around 340 horsepower, while the top dog RS Q3 will have around 400 horsepower. If you’re looking for something a bit more green, a plug-in hybrid version and a mild-hybrid version are also going to be offered.
