The next-generation Audi A3 is slated to arrive in the United States in late 2021 as a 2022 model and now Audi has unveiled the high-performance S3 version.
Audi hasn’t revealed the US-spec 2022 Audi S3 yet, but for now we know that at least in other markets it will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The engine will be mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and quattro all-wheel drive.
The 2022 S3 can reach 0-62 mph in 4.8 seconds and has a electronically governed top speed of 155 mph.
Compared to the 2022 A3, the S3’s ride height has been lowered by 15 millimeters and adjustable damping is optional. A better braking system with vented rotors and black calipers has also been added.
The 2022 S3 gets a more aggressive exterior with a unique front fascia, a trunk lid spoiler, quad-exhaust tips and either 18-inch or 19-inch wheels.
Sadly the US is only expected to get the S3 sedan and not the S3 Sportback hatchback that you also see here.
If you’re wanting even more power, you’ll want to wait for the RS 3.
