Audi unveiled the next-generation A3 in April, but at the time the debut largely focused on the European-spec A3. But now we have more details about the new A3, which is going to arrive in the US late next year as a 2022 model.

2022 Audi A3

The 2022 Audi A3 will arrive in the US with only one engine option, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that’s mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This is a big difference from the European A3, which has two gas engine and two diesel engine options. Luckily buyers will be able to choose from either front- or all-wheel drive.

The 201-hp 2.0-liter will be mated to a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, which will make the powertrain a bit more fuel efficient, since it allows the engine to be off longer at a standstill.

If you want more power, the S3 will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and a new RS3 is also expected to arrive later.

2022 Audi A3

The 2022 Audi A3 is longer and wider than the last generation, which will provide a little more space inside. Inside the dashboard has a more angular design with a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, which can be increased to 12.3-inches. It also comes standard with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and 4G LTE.

We’re still waiting to hear the pricing for the 2022 A3.
