The rear-wheel drive Audi R8 was a limited series model and now Audi has announced that the R8 RWD Coupe and Spyder will be permanent additions to the R8 lineup.

The 2021 R8 RWD Coupe and Spyder stand out from the rest of the R8 lineup with a high gloss black front blade, side sill inserts, and rear diffuser.  The sideblades are also finished in Mythos black and the rear exhaust tips are finished in chrome.

Buyers can also add the available carbon exterior package, which adds carbon fiber to the engine compartment and carbon sigma sideblades.

The R8 RWD is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine with 532 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. The R8 RWD reaches 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds for the Coupe (3.7 for the Spyder), with a top track speed of 201 mph (200 mph for the Spyder).

The 2021 Audi R8 V10 Coupe RWD starts at $142,700, plus the $1,495 destination charge and $1,700 gas guzzler tax.
