Audi is going to reveal the e-tron electric SUV next week on September 17 in San Francisco. Audi has already announced that the e-tron will have a driving range around 250 miles, but now Audi has also announced that the e-tron will make taking toll roads easier with its built in toll transponder.
The Audi e-tron will come equipped with an Integrated Toll Module, aka toll transponder built into the its rearview mirror. The integrated toll transponder will gives drivers access to toll roads while also eliminating clutter on the windshield. Plus it also gets rid of the need to manage multiple toll accounts. Drivers will be able to adjust module settings through the vehicle’s MMI – including turning the ITM on and off as well as changing the occupant settings for HOV/HOT lanes.
Audi hasn’t announced the pricing yet for the e-tron, but starting on September 17 you’ll be able to reserve one with a $1,000 refundable reservation fee. The Audi e-tron will arrive in early 2019.
