Audi A6 L e-tron Concept Brings a Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain to the A6

Audi is putting its e-tron technology into the the A6, in the form of the A6 L e-tron concept at the Beijing Motor Show. The A6 L e-tron concept is powered by a plug-in hybrid system that allows the concept to drive almost 50 miles on electric power alone.

The A6 L e-tron concept’s plug-in hybrid powertrain uses a 2.0L four-cylinder engine with 211 horsepower that is mated to a 95 horsepower electric motor. The liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery is located in a collision-protected space at the rear of the vehicle. In electric mode, the Audi A6 L e-tron concept can travel up to 49.71 miles at a constant speed of 60 37.28 mph. The A6 L e-tron can operate in gasoline, fully-electric or hybrid modes.
