Audi recently killed rumors about a four-door Audi TT, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t planning a sleek compact four-door coupe. A new report claims that Audi is planning a new four-door coupe version of the next-generation A3, which could be called the A3 Sportback or the A3 Liftback.

According to Autocar, Audi has already given the green light to the A3 four-door coupe, which will rival the Mercedes-Benz CLA. If the report is accurate, the A3 four-door coupe will arrive in 2020 and join the rest of the revamped A3 lineup, which will includes the sedan, hatchback and convertible.
We don’t have a lot of details yet, but sources have revealed that the A3 four-door coupe or A3 Sportback will essentially be a smaller version of the A5 Sportback. It will also be offered in S3 and RS3 versions, with the latter having somewhere around 400 horsepower under the hood. A fully electric version is also a possibility as a rival to the Tesla Model 3.
Stay tuned.
