Last April Aston Martin unveiled its first electric car, the Rapide E at the Shanghai Motor Show. At the time the production was supposed to be extremely limited since Aston Martin only planned to build 155 units. Now it’s being reported that Aston Martin has decided to not build the Rapide E electric car at all.

According to Autocar, Aston Martin has decided to not build the Rapide E and instead will use it as a “research project” for the brand’s electric program.

For now Aston Martin is focusing its efforts on its first SUV, the DBX, which is scheduled to arrive in the second quarter of 2020.
