Aston Martin has unveiled what will easily be one of the rarest Aston Martin Rapide sedans – the Aston Martin Rapide AMR. The Rapide AMR was previewed last year by a concept version and even though Aston Martin has decided to build it, only 210 examples will be produced.

The Aston Martin Rapide AMR was previewed in concept form at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show and luckily not much has changed. At the front its massive grille lets other drivers on the road know that this is a special Rapide, while under the hood there’s a 580-hp 6.0L V12 with 465 lb-ft. of torque. If you live in Europe, the V12 generates 595-hp. The Rapide AMR has an eight-speed automatic transmission and reaches 60 mph in only 4 seconds. To keep all that power under control, the Rapide AMR comes fitted with large carbon ceramic brakes.

Compared to the standard Rapide, the Rapide AMR gets extra aerodynamic parts to make it more aerodynamic, like a front splitter, sills, rear diffuser and trunk lip spoiler that are all made of carbon fiber. The carbon fiber hood also has large ventilation inserts.

The Rapide AMR will be available in three different design schemes. The Standard and Silhouette schemes offer four colors – Mariana Blue, Scintilla Silver, Lightning Silver and Onyx Black – with the Standard scheme adding AMR Lime accents to the splitter, sills and rear diffuser. The Silhouette scheme does without the Lime accents and instead adds a full-length contrasting stripe in China Grey or Clubsport White.

The Aston Martin Rapide AMR will be available from £194,950 in the UK, $240,000 in the US and €229,950 in Germany. The first deliveries begin in Q4 2018.
