Almost 300,000 Chevy HHR’s are being recalled to fix a storage bin latch issue.
Apparently the latches to the storage bin are defective and have been shown to not meet federal safety compliance test standards since they allow the storage bin to open during certain crashes.
GM is going to send storage bin latch reinforcement kits to current owners who have the option of installing them themselves or taking it to the dealer for the repair. Parts are expected to start being delivered in November.
