Ford is set to release an all-new 2013 Ford Escape early next year and although we have yet to see the all-new 2013 Escape, Ford has announced what we can expect to see under the hood. Ford’s EcoBoost engines continue to filter throughout the Ford lineup, which means that we will also see them used in the Escape.

The all-new Escape will offer a choice of three different four-cylinder engines, which includes the new 1.6- and 2.0-liter EcoBoost engines and a 2.5-liter Ti-VCT four-cylinder.

“Expanding the availability of EcoBoost technology in the all-new Ford Escape will give customers a great range of choices for the fuel efficiency and performance they want in a small SUV,” said Joe Bakaj, vice president, Powertrain Engineering. “This advanced technology in the new Escape delivers on our commitment to provide class-leading fuel efficiency in every new Ford product.”

The 1.6L EcoBoost is expected to have the feel of a larger engine, but get better gas mileage than the current Escape Hybrid, which gets 31 mpg. The 2.0L EcoBoost will deliver the feel of a V6 engine without the fuel economy penalties.

The all-new 2013 Ford Escape is set to debut next month at the LA Auto Show. The next Escape was previewed earlier this year by the Vertrek concept.
