According to Automotive News Europe, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is going to spend $5.7 billion to produce new models and engines at its factories in Italy. The new Alfa Romeo SUV is part of the new plan, which will be added to the lineup below the Stelvio.

The new compact Alfa Romeo SUV will also be offered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. While we do know that the new SUV will be built at FCA’s Pomigliano plant in Italy, it’s not known yet if it will be offered in the US. FCA hasn’t confirmed when the new Alfa Romeo SUV will arrive, but another report from a few months ago claimed that it’s at least three years away.
