Acura gave us a big surprise when it announced the return of the Integra name, earlier this month. Acura hasn’t provided many details other than stating that it will arrive in the spring, likely as a 2023 model. But now we have confirmation that an Integra Type S is coming.

The news about an Integra Type S isn’t too surprising, since it’s expected that Acura will eventually offer a Type S version of all its models, look at the new NSX Type S and upcoming MDX Type S. Either way, we now have the confirmation, since Honda recently trademarked the “Integra Type S” name with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

What’s interesting is that the trademark doesn’t mention that it will be used by automobiles and instead it’s for “Apparel and headwear, namely, caps, hats, t-shirts, shirts, sweatshirts, knit shirts, polo shirts, jackets, and vests.” This simply means that Acura plans to make some extra money by launching a lineup of clothes and accessories for the Integra Type S.

It’s expected that the new Integra will be based on the latest generation Honda Civic, but we don’t have confirmation if it will be offered in two- and four-door versions.
