It’s been seven years since Acura launched the current RDX, and the segment has evolved enough that the brand’s compact luxury SUV is overdue for a major update. Now we’re finally getting a first look at what’s next. Acura has released a teaser image of the next-generation RDX, confirming that the redesigned model will debut with a new two-motor hybrid system—a first for the nameplate.

The upcoming hybrid RDX is a key piece of Acura’s broader electrification strategy, which focuses on offering a mix of gasoline, hybrid, and fully electric models to meet different customer needs. With the shift to the new hybrid powertrain on the horizon, Acura says it will pause production of the 2026 RDX later this year as it prepares for the next chapter.
While Acura isn’t ready to talk specs, performance, or design details just yet, the automaker has confirmed that the next-generation RDX hybrid will arrive within the next couple of years.
