Acura is giving us a preview of its next EV, with the debut of the Performance EV concept. Unlike the Acura ZDX EV that shares its platform with GM, Acura’s next EV will be the first EV based on Honda’s new EV platform. It will also be the first model built at the new Honda EV Hub in Ohio.

The Performance EV concept is an early look at Acura’s next EV, which will arrive in late 2025. Compared to the ZDX, the Performance EV concept features a more coupe-like profile with a completely new face that differs from the rest of Acura’s current lineup. According to Acura, the concept’s aggressive face “draws inspiration from the high-tech form and function of hydrofoil superyachts.”

At the rear, Acura says that the “upswept decklid, full-width taillight and large diffuser pay homage to the second generation NSX.” The concept also rides on massive 23-inch wheels.

We’ll have to wait and see how close the production version is to this concept, but according to Dave Marek, Acura Design Executive, “as with our previous Acura concept vehicles, the Acura Performance EV Concept introduces a number of design themes that will be seen on future Acura vehicles.”
