Acura is reportedly considering a fully electric version of the next-generation NSX. Last year Acura teased the idea of an electric NSX with the NSX EV concept that climbed Pikes Peak.
An electric Acura NSX could rival the new electric sports cars from Tesla and Porsche
Although the NSX EV we saw last year was purely a concept, Honda R&D boss Sekino Yosuke recently revealed that the technology from the concept could arrive in a production version. “It’s not just a competition car; I would like to make such a car in production, and there are some studies around that,” Yosuke told Autocar. “We are evaluating what is possible now.”

The NSX EV was powered by four electric motors that gave the concept a total 1,000 horsepower. It finished third overall and second in the Electric Modified class in the 2016 Pikes Peak race.
“We want our electric cars to be joyful to drive, and it is clear that this proposal, with around 1000bhp, is both joyful and uses technology that could one day reach production. We are evaluating what is possible now.”
Don’t expect to see a full-electric NSX anytime soon, since the current generation just arrived.
