Acura Confirms New Flagship Sedan Concept for New York, Likely Dubbed the RLX

Acura_Advance_Logo.jpg Acura has confirmed that Acura’s new flagship sedan will debut next week at the 2012 New York Auto Show. Acura hasn’t released a lot of details about the replacement for the current RL, other than saying that it will employ “an array of new Acura technologies, including the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® system, the concept vehicle will deliver an entirely new level of performance, sophistication and comfort.”

Car and Driver is reporting that the replacement for the RL will likely be called the RLX, since Acura recently trademarked the “RLX” name. The RLX will still be powered by a V6 engine and Acura’s all-wheel-drive system, but its already been confirmed by Honda’s President Tananobu Ito that the top RLX model will be powered by a hybrid system with two electric motors.

Acura’s new flagship sedan will debut on April 4th.
