Fiat isn’t done shrinking the EV footprint in the U.S. While the Fiat 500e currently holds the title of the smallest vehicle on sale here, it’s about to be dethroned. The brand has confirmed plans to bring an even tinier electric car to America: the Fiat Topolino.

If the name sounds familiar, it should. “Topolino,” Italian for little mouse, pays homage to the original Fiat 500 Topolino sold from 1936 to 1955. The modern version, already on sale in Europe, is less a traditional car and more a cheerful, ultra-compact urban runabout designed for short trips—not cross-country road trips.
Fiat showed off the U.S.-bound Topolino during Miami Art Week, where it debuted a one-off version customized by artist Romero Britto. And according to Fiat brand CEO Olivier François, the reaction stateside has been overwhelmingly positive.
“The Fiat Topolino, our small, joyful, colorful car that is now everywhere in Europe, has made several appearances in the U.S. over the past year, including last month at the LA Auto Show, where it’s creating tremendous excitement among consumers. So much so that I’m happy to share that we’ll be bringing the Fiat Topolino to the U.S., with more details to come next year,” François said.

Just how small is it? The Topolino comes in at under 100 inches long, making it far shorter than the already-petite 500e. Its size brings limitations, though: power comes from a tiny 8-horsepower electric motor fed by a 5.5-kWh battery pack. That makes the Topolino ideal for quick urban commutes or short beach-town hops—but unrealistic for higher-speed or long-distance driving. Think of it as a stylish, street-legal alternative to a neighborhood electric vehicle, rather than a traditional city car.
Fiat hasn’t shared U.S.-specific specs, pricing, or availability yet, but we’ll learn more in 2026.
