Toyota has unveiled the updates to the 2026 GR Corolla, which benefits from structural upgrades, new cooling improvements, and expanded tech features.

2026 Toyota GR Corolla

At the heart of the 2026 GR Corolla is the familiar 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, delivering 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. A secondary air intake has been added to improve engine temperature control. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission with rev-matching or an eight-speed automatic transmission. Automatic models also come with launch control.

To manage the extra output, Toyota has added an automatic transmission fluid cooler for automatic equipped models, while Premium Plus versions get an additional sub-radiator for even greater cooling capability.

The GR-FOUR all-wheel-drive system, features selectable drive modes—Normal (60:40), Gravel (50:50), and Track (adjustable 60:40 to 30:70) so drivers can tailor torque distribution to match conditions. Torsen limited-slip differentials front and rear are standard.

Toyota has also stiffened the chassis with an extra 45.6 feet of structural adhesive in the front and rear, improving rigidity and stability. This upgrade boosts suspension movement, steering precision, and overall cornering control.

For 2026, the GR Corolla comes in two trims. The base GR Corolla includes aggressive styling cues like a bulging hood with functional vents, gloss-black 15-spoke wheels, and suede-trimmed sport seats with grey stitching.

The new Premium Plus trim steps things up with a forged carbon-fiber roof, matte black alloy wheels, a gloss-black rear spoiler, and sport seats with red stitching. Inside, it adds a head-up display and an upgraded nine-speaker JBL audio system with a subwoofer and Active Sound Control.

Inside, drivers get a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and Toyota’s Audio Multimedia system with an eight-inch touchscreen. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and dual Bluetooth connections.

The 2026 Toyota GR Corolla will arrive at dealerships this fall, starting at $39,920 (plus $1,195 destination).
