Toyota has given the 2025 GR Corolla some updates for the new model year, which not only includes the availability of an automatic transmission, but there are also some changes under the hood.
The big news is the new optional 8-speed automatic transmission, but a six-speed manual remains standard. The clutch system on the manual has been tweaked to provide more feel. Toyota also increased the torque of the turbocharged 1.6-liter engine to 295 pound-feet compared to 273 lb-ft. You’ll notice that torque spec matches the 2023 Morizo edition. The horsepower rating remains at 300 hp. The suspension has also been retuned for more stability when cornering and a new Launch Control system has been added.
On the outside the front bumper has been redesigned to accommodate new available cooling components like an optional sub-radiator and an automatic transmission fluid cooler.
The 2025 Toyota GR Corolla will be available in three trim levels: Core, Premium and the new Premium Plus trim. The Premium Plus trim sits at the top of the lineup and adds a carbon fiber roof, bulge hood with air vents, sub radiator, matte black wheels, a head-up display and suede-trimmed seats.
The pricing for the 2025 GR Corolla starts at $39,995, including destination. The 8-speed automatic transmission adds $2,000 to the price. The GR Corolla Premium Plus with the automatic lists for $48,650.
