Land Rover has unveiled a new version of the Defender, called the Defender OCTA, which amps up the performance of the Defender on or off the road. The 2025 Defender OCTA is the most powerful, luxurious and capable Defender ever.

The Defender OCTA is powered by a 4.4-liter twin turbo mild-hybrid V8 engine with 626 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. All that power gives the Defender OCTA from 0-60 mph in a quick 3.8 seconds. It also has a top speed of 155 mph. Land Rover didn’t just upgrade the engine, it also revised the chassis with the 6D Dynamics suspension.
The Defender OCTA sits 1.1-inches higher and it is 2.7-inches wider. Revised suspension components include longer and tougher wishbones, and unique active dampers with separate accumulators. Stopping power is provided by uprated 15.7-inch front brake discs with 6 Opposed Piston Brembo calipers. Lastly it also has the fastest steering ratio of any Defender yet.
It rides on 33-inch tires and in order to be able to fit them the wheel arches have been extended. There’s also a unique grille, a new rear bumper incorporating a four-exit active exhaust system, tough underbody protection including an aluminum alloy front under shield with graphite finish and exposed Phosphor Bronze-finished front and rear recovery points. The Defender OCTA will be available in four colors: Petra Copper, Faroe Green, Carpathian Grey and Charente Grey. No matter which color you choose, there’s a contrast roof and tailgate in gloss Narvik Black.

Inside the Defender OCTA gets new Burnt Sienna semi-aniline leather seats, with Kvadrat textile trim in Ebony. Buyers can also opt for Ultrafabrics in Light Cloud and Lunar, or semi-aniline leather in Ebony. The front seats are new performance seats larger bolsters and integrated headrests. Music fans will also like the immersive Body and Soul Seat audio technology, which Land Rover says will allow the driver and front passenger “to feel, as well as hear, the music.”
The pricing for the 2025 Land Rover Defender OCTA has a starting MSRP of $153,475, including destination. The Defender OCTA Edition One starts at starting MSRP of $169,275.
