Kia unveiled the second-generation Niro late last year and now it’s ready to reveal the U.S. version, which will have its debut next week, at the 2022 New York Auto Show.
Just like before, the 2023 Niro will be offered in hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric versions. The hybrid will be the first version to arrive and it will be powered by the same 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor. The hybrid powertrain generates the same 139 horsepower as it did before.
Kia hasn’t revealed the powertrain details for the plug-in hybrid or electric versions.
The 2023 Kia Niro is bigger than the first generation with a 2.5-inch increase in length and slight increases to the wheelbase and width.
