Next year Volkswagen is going to expand its crossover lineup with the introduction of the 2020 Atlas Cross Sport, which will be a shorter five-passenger version of the Atlas. VW recently previewed the Atlas Cross Sport with a concept, but now we have our first leaked photos of the production version.
Chinese site Autohome has leaked the first photos of the 2020 VW Atlas Cross Sport, which looks pretty close to the concept version that we saw earlier this year. According to the publication, the Atlas Cross Sport will ride on the same wheelbase as the three-row Atlas, but its total length has been trimmed a bit, since it doesn’t need to make room for that third-row.
Production of the 2020 VW Atlas Cross Sport is expected to begin next summer at VW’s Chattanooga plant in Tennessee. When it arrives it will compete with a growing number of midsize five-passenger SUVs, like the new Honda Passport and Chevy Blazer.
