It’s being reported that the next-generation 2020 Range Rover Evoque is going to debut this November at the Los Angeles Auto Show. While we’ve seen spy photos of the new Evoque, the big news is that the second generation Evoque is expected to debut Land Rover’s new Transparent Hood technology.

Land Rover previewed the Transparent Hood technology as a concept in 2014. The technology uses a series of cameras and projectors to display the ground underneath the vehicle, like the hood and engine aren’t even there. The technology is designed to make it easier to see obstacles underneath the vehicle that you wouldn’t normally see unless you were outside.

Autocar is also reporting that the 2020 Range Rover Evoque will be based on an updated D8 platform, which will reportedly be rebranded as the Premium Transverse Architecture (PTA). The new Evoque will also arrive with electrified powertrains.

Sales of the 2020 Range Rover Evoque are expected to start in 2019.
