While it would have been nice to see the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 this week at the LA Auto Show, Ford has confirmed that it will arrive at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

If you do happen to make it out to the LA Auto Show, Ford has placed a classic 1967 Shelby GT500 in a container at the show with a date showing that the next-generation GT500 will debut on January 14, 2019.

Ford hasn’t released any big details yet, but the teaser at the LA Auto Show states that it will be powered by a supercharged V8 with “over 650 horsepower.” It’s rumored that the V8 will be mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, while a manual will reportedly not be offered.

Ford will likely release more teasers of the 2020 Shelby GT500 leading up to its debut in Detroit, so stay tuned. Luckily we did get to see a leaked photo last month.
