Audi recently unveiled the e-tron SUV, but we’re excited about something else its cooking up – the electric 2020 Audi e-tron GT sedan. Audi has confirmed that its working on the e-tron GT sedan, which we’re expecting to see next month at the LA Auto Show.

We already expected that Audi would position the e-tron GT sedan against the Tesla Model S and now Audi’s powertrain boss Siegfried Pint has revealed to Autocar that its performance will rival the Model S P100D. The e-tron GT will be “steered towards performance” and have a 248-mile range based on the new WLTP test cycle.

The Audi e-tron GT will be previewed as a concept next month in LA. The production version will be based on the same J1 platform as the Porsche Taycan. But even if it shares its platform with Porsche, Audi technical development boss Ulrich Widmann stated that it will “get some genes from Porsche and add a lot of Audi genes.” It will also be the first Audi to allow 350kW fast charging.
