Last month Toyota gave us a chance to get behind the wheel of the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback, but at that time Toyota wasn’t ready to release the pricing or MPG specs. Now Toyota has announced that the 2019 Corolla Hatchback starts at $20,910.
The 2019 Toyota Corolla will be available in SE and XSE trim levels. The base SE starts at $20,910 with the six-speed manual transmission and if you add the CVT, the SE starts at $22,010. The 2019 Corolla Hatchback XSE is priced at $23,910 with the manual and $25,010.
No matter which trim level you choose, the 2019 Corolla Hatchback is powered by a new 2.0L four-cylinder with 168 horsepower and 151 lb-ft. of torque. The four-cylinder can be mated to either a six-speed manual or a CVT with a real first gear. The most efficient combination is the SE with the CVT, which is rated at 32/42 mpg. The Corolla Hatchback SE is rated at 28/37 mpg. If you choose the XSE with the CVT, it’s rated at 30/38 mpg. Toyota has not announced the MPG specs for the XSE with the manual transmission.
Some options include ($415) adaptive front lights; the ($1,400) SE Preferred Package that adds Entune 3.0 and a blind spot monitor; or the ($1,600) XSE Preferred Package that adds Entune 3.0, an 800-watt JBL audio system, navigation and wireless charging. Lastly the new Blizzard Blue Pearl exterior color will add $395.
