It looks like Ford is cooking up something hot with the upcoming 2019 Ford Mustang GT500. Ford has yet to confirm anything, but that hasn’t stopped our friends over at Mustang6g from snooping around. Not only has a leaked image of what appears to be a supercharged 5.2L V8 leaked online, but a forum member has also shared a leaked document that confirms the supercharged V8 for the 2019 Ford Mustang GT500.
The leaked documents and photo confirm that the 2019 Ford Mustang GT500 will be powered by a supercharged 5.2L V8 that’s being called the “Predator.” Mustang6g forum member Super Werty posted a photo of the V8, while a document titled “2020 MY North America Vehicle Program – Engine Oil Requirements” has a line item that states that the next GT500 will be powered by a supercharged 5.2L engine.
It’s not known how much power the 5.2L V8 will pack, but it could finally give the Mustang the power that it needs to take on the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
