Mercedes-Benz has announced that it will unveil the all-new 2019 A-Class at an event in Amsterdam on February 2, 2018. The 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class is the first model from its new lineup of compact models.
This single teaser image previews the new A-Class, but it’s not known yet if the model that we’ll see next week is the new A-Class hatchback or the sedan. The 2019 A-Class sedan is expected to be offered in the United States by the end of 2018. The A-Class sedan will be priced below the CLA and also a bit more interior room.
The new A-Class lineup will ride on an updated version of the MFA (Modular Front-drive Architecture) that’s currently used its compact models. The updated MFA2 platform will help the models drop a few pounds and be able to use new alternative powertrains. The platform will be used for a range of new models, including the A-Class hatchback, A-Class sedan, GLA SUV, CLA, a more rugged GLB SUV and even the EQA electric hatchback.
Inside the A-Class will feature the new MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) system, which features digital screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system. The system also features touchscreen controls and you can use your voice to control its functions.
