Mazda has announced the updates to the 2019 Mazda CX-9 crossover, with the biggest update being the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility has been added to every CX-9 besides the base Sport trim level. Some of the other updates to the 2019 Mazda CX-9 include a retuned suspension, plus a thicker headliner and thicker floor mats to make the interior quieter.
The entry 2019 Mazda CX-9 Sport starts at $32,280 and comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch infotainment screen, cloth seats, LED headlights and taillights, one-touch front and rear power windows, rear privacy glass, three-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, Smart City Brake Support automatic emergency braking and Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.
The CX-9 Sport is available with a Sport Package that adds a power driver’s seat, heated front seats, heated door mirrors, automatic headlights, High Beam Control, Lane-Keep Assist, Lane-Departure Warning, Mazda Radar Cruise Control, rain-sensing wipers and Smart Brake Support automatic emergency braking.
The CX-9 Touring starts at $35,330 and adds standard automatic headlights, heated front side mirrors, power liftgate with adjustable height, rain-sensing windshield wipers, leather seats, Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry, a power driver’s seat, an 8-inch infotainment screen, two second-row USB ports, HomeLink, High Beam Control, Lane-Keep Assist, Lane-Departure Warning, full-speed Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Smart Brake Support and Smart City Brake Support with Pedestrian Detection. The new features, include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror.
CX-9 Touring can be upgraded with Premium Package that adds a power moonroof, Bose 12-speaker audio system, LED fog lamps, Mazda Navigation, front parking sensors and a second-row retractable sunshades.
The 2019 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring starts at $40,840 and adds a new 7-inch TFT reconfigurable gauge cluster display, ventilated front seats, power-folding door mirrors, anew 360° View Monitor, an Adaptive Front-lighting System, chrome exterior accents, roof rails, windshield wipers de-icer, 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels, Active Driving Display with Traffic Sign Recognition, heated steering wheel, LED door-pocket and overhead illumination and front and rear parking sensors.
The top of the line Mazda CX-9 Signature starts at $45,365 and adds LED grille accent lighting, Auburn Nappa leather seating surfaces, a hand-stitched, leather-wrapped “chidori” steering wheel, and new Santos rosewood interior trim.
All versions of the 2019 Mazda CX-9 are powered by a turbocharged 2.5L four-cylinder engine that generates 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft. of torque. If you fill it up with 87-octane gasoline, the horsepower rating drops to on 227 horsepower, but the torque rating stays the same. The four-cylinder is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive is optional.
The 2019 Mazda CX-9 will arrive in showrooms next month.
