After releasing a single photo a few days ago, Infiniti has now released all the information about the 2019 Infiniti QX50, which is debuting this week at the LA Auto Show. Based on a new platform, with a more distinctive exterior, the midsize 2019 QX50 is a big improvement over its predecessor.
“The 2019 QX50 is the most important vehicle we have ever launched, and it embodies everything the brand stands for: Beautiful design, advanced technology and empowering performance. As a luxury mid-size crossover, it’s the right vehicle at the right time in one of the world’s fastest growing segments,” stated Christian Meunier, Infiniti Global Division Vice President.
The 2019 Infiniti QX50 brings Infiniti’s latest “Powerful Elegance” design language to the crossover segment. It combines a confident stance with deep character lines. Inside there’s more space than before with higher quality materials with an asymmetric layout.
Under the hood there’s a new VC-Turbo engine that is the world’s first production-ready variable compression ratio engine. The 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine adjusts its compression ratio to optimize power and efficiency. In the QX50 the 2.0L is mated to a standard CVT and generates 268 horsepower and 280 lb-ft. of torque. The all-wheel drive QX50 reaches 60 mph in 6.3 seconds, while the front-wheel drive version reaches takes a few blips longer at 6.7 seconds.
