The 2019 Ford Edge ST has found a new job, since Ford has teamed up with camera car company Pursuit Systems to create unique Edge ST camera car that will help capture high-speed chase scenes for movies and commercials.
Not only does the 2019 Ford Edge ST have to be fast enough to keep up with the high-speed scenes, but it also has to be able to carry a 1,000 pound roof-mounted crane that carries the camera. The Edge ST has to reach speeds over 100 mph, plus have enough space inside for a film crew and extra equipment.
Some of the modifications to the 2019 Edge ST, includes extra structural support for the roof so that it can carry the 1,000 pound Pursuit Arm, an air suspension, a roll cage and some modifications to the 2.7L EcoBoost engine.
The unique Ford Edge ST will now join a fleet of other high-performance SUVs that help produce some of the best action scenes. The fleet already includes the BMW X5 M, Porsche Cayenne Turbo and a Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG.
