BMW recently released a whole batch of photos of the 2019 BMW Z4, but it didn’t confirm when we’ll get to see it. But now we have some new updates, since Magna-Steyr has confirmed that the 2019 Z4 will enter production at its factory in Austria, in late 2018.
It’s been rumored that Magna-Steyr would build the new Z4, so now it’s officially confirmed. We still haven’t heard if the Toyota Supra will be produced at the same factory, although it would make sense, since the two models are based on the same platform.
“Our expertise in complete vehicle engineering and production makes us unique and the ideal partner for the industry,” says Günther Apfalter, President of Magna Europe and Magna Steyr. “We are very pleased that we can further strengthen our relationship with the BMW Group and continue to solidify our overall position in the industry with new business like this.”
It’s expected that the 2019 BMW Z4 will debut at some point this summer. But at least for now, bMW has started to release some details, like the top spec Z4 M40i, which will be powered by a turbocharged six-cylinder engine. BMW hasn’t confirmed it yet, but it’s expected that the Z4 will also be offered in s20i and s30i versions.
