We’re just coming off the debut of the M2 Competition and now BMW has upped the ante with the M5 Competition. The 2019 BMW M5 Competition may not look too different from the standard M5, but what you get is more power, an even sportier suspension setup and some styling updates.
Lets start with the fun. The 2019 BMW M5 Competition is powered by a tweaked version of the M5’s 4.4L V8, which generates 617 horsepower (17 more than the standard M5) and 553 lb-ft. of torque. The small horsepower increase gives the M5 Competition a 60 mph time of only 3.1 seconds and if you opt for the optional M Driver’s package the special M5 can reach a top speed of 189 mph.
Just sitting at a stop you’ll appreciate the music thanks to the new active M Sport exhaust and while you’re sitting there others around you will notice the unique two-tone Y-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels. Plus there’s gloss-black accents for the grille, mirrors, door handles, and window trim to help the M5 Competition stand out from the standard M5.
Inside the changes are smaller with M seat belts, carbon fiber trim and Merino Aragon leather seats.
The 2019 M5 Competition will start rolling off the production line in July and pricing starts at $110,995.
