As the Alfa Romeo Stelvio crossover heads into its second model year, Alfa Romeo has made one change to make it a bit cheaper, the 2019 Stelvio is now available with rear-wheel drive. When the Stelvio launched it was only offered with all-wheel drive, but now the 2019 Stelvio offers buyers a choice.

According to Car and Driver, the 2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio will also be a bit easier on your wallet, since the new rear-wheel drive version is $2,000 cheaper than the all-wheel drive version, starting at $41,440. The rear-wheel drive Stelvio also loses around 100 pounds less than the all-wheel drive version.

No matter which version you choose, the Stelvio is powered by a 2.0L four-cylinder engine with 280 horsepower and 306 lb-ft of torque that’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The rear-wheel drive version won’t be offered with as many options as the all-wheel drive Stelvio, since the higher Ti versions come standard with AWD.

The rear-drive Stelvio will be offered with an $1800 Sport package that includes 19-inch wheels, aluminum pedals, colored brake calipers, and paddle shifters. Buyers can also add a Cold Weather package, an 8.8-inch infotainment display, and driver-assist technologies.
