The IIHS has given the 2018 Toyota Camry its highest safety rating possible – Top Safety Pick +. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the 2018 Camry has improved front crash prevention system that now comes standard, and all its available headlights earn either a good or acceptable rating.

To earn the highest award from IIHS, a vehicle must have “good” ratings in all five tests — small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints. Plus it must also receive an advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention and an acceptable or good headlight rating.

2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid

The IIHS says that among all the midsize sedans available, the 2018 Toyota Camry is now at the top. Its standard front crash prevention system is rated superior with the Camry managing to avoid a collision in both 12 mph and 25 mph tests, The Camry’s good-rated, curve-adaptive headlights are only available on the Hybrid XLE trim, but the Camry’s standard headlights received an acceptable rating. The 2018 Camry also earns the highest rating of good+ for ease of use of its LATCH hardware for attaching child restraints.
