Subaru has unveiled the updated 2018 Outback, which now features a “more rugged” exterior thanks to its revised front and rear styling. The 2018 Outback’s front fascia now features wider, lower grille openings, a restyled grille, a new bumper and new C-shaped headlights with “Konoji” daytime LED running lights.

Subaru also made some updates to improve the Outback’s ride and handling, which includes retuned suspension dampers, steering and brake systems. Subaru also made some updates to the CVT, added sound-insulating glass and reshaped the exterior mirrors to give the 2018 Outback a quieter interior. The interior also gets a redesigned center console, highlighted by an available 8-inch display screen.

Under the hood, the 2018 Outback is powered by either a 175-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine or a 3.6-liter 6-cylinder engine that generates 256 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a CVT that features a seven-speed manual mode and paddle shift control switches.
