Mazda has unveiled the updates to the 2018 Mazda MX-5, which now features more than one color option for the soft top, while the the Brembo/BBS package now offers leather seats as an option.

On the outside the biggest update is the availability of a new Dark Cherry soft top, which is an option if you don’t want the standard Black soft top. Inside there’s a new auburn-colored interior option and Nappa leather seats are now available on the top-spec MX-5 Grand Touring model. The MX-5 Club with the Brembo/ BBS Recaro package now has heated leather seats.

While there aren’t any changes to the powertrain, the rear suspension and power steering system have been re-tuned to not only improve the MX-5’s performance, but also reduce unwanted cabin noise. Under the hood all MX-5 models are powered by a 155-hp 2.0L four-cylinder that can me bated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

Pricing for the 2018 MX-5 starts at $25,295 for the base MX-5 Sport, which now comes standard with the 7-inch Mazda Connect infotainment system. The 2018 MX-5 Sport also comes standard with LED headlights and taillights, cloth seats, Bluetooth and the Advanced Keyless Entry system.

The 2018 MX-5 Club adds heated cloth seats, 17-inch gunmetal wheels, a Bose audio system, and a Blind Spot monitoring system. The Club models with the six-speed manual feature Bilstein shocks, a limited-slip differential and a shock tower brace. The Brembo/ BBS package adds heated, black leather seats, aerodynamic side sill extensions, a rear bumper skirt, 17-inc BBS wheels, front Brembo brakes. The new Brembo/BBS Recaro package builds on the Brembo/ BBS package with heated Recaro sport seats.

The 2018 MX-5 Grand Touring comes standard with heated, leather seats, automatic climate control, auto headlights, lane departure warning, navigation, rain-sensing wipers and more sound absorbing material in its cloth headliner.

There are also three new colors available for 2018, Eternal Blue Mica, Snowflake White Pearl Mica, and Soul Red Crystal. Machine Grey Metallic is now available on both the MX-5 and MX-5 RF models.

The 2018 Mazda MX-5 soft top will arrive next month.
