The 2018 Kia Soul and Kia Sportage have earned the highest safety rating possible from the IIHS – Top Safety Pick+. Not all the Soul and Sportage models received the highest rating, since the rating is only applicable to models with upgraded headlights.
All 2018 Soul models equipped with the Primo Lit package receive the rating as well as the 2018 Sportage SX Turbo.
To earn the highest rating, a vehicle has to receive “good” ratings in five crashworthiness tests – small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side impact, roof strength and head restraints – as well as an “advanced” or “superior” rating for front crash prevention and an “acceptable” or “good” rating in headlight testing.
Several other Kia models have also earned the highest rating from the IIHS, like the Forte, Optima, Cadenza and Sorento.
