2018 GMC Terrain debuts with a bolder look and a diesel

GMC has unveiled the all-new 2018 Terrain crossover, which is debuting this week at the Detroit Auto Show. With a new bolder design and more powertrain options, the Terrain is set to continue to lead GMC’s sales growth.

The 2018 Terrain’s bolder exterior signals the next chapter of GMC’s design language with its stronger, sharper and more sculpted elements such as the grille and lighting features.

Just like the new Chevy Equinox, the Terrain will be able with a range of new turbocharged engines. Buyers can choose from either a 1.5L or 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engines or a new 1.6L turbo-diesel. The 1.5L generates 170-hp and 203 lb-ft., while the 2.0L generates 252-hp and 262-lb-ft. You’ll notice that the 3.6L V6 is now gone. If you are interested in the new 1.6L diesel, it generates 137-hp and 240 lb-ft.

There are also new nine-speed automatic transmissions for the gas engines and the Terrain comes standard with the a Traction Select system, which offers for different driving conditions. AWD models feature a FWD mode that disconnects the AWD system to minimize drag and optimize fuel economy.

The 2018 Terrain goes on sale this summer in SL, SLE, SLT and Denali models. The Terrain features 7- and available 8-inch-diagonal infotainment systems with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality and a standard OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Every new Terrain comes standard with five years of the OnStar Basic Plan.

To keep you safe, the 2018 Terrain is available with a range of new safety technologies, like Surround Vision, Forward Collision Alert with Following Distance Indicator, Low-Speed Forward Automatic Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning and a new Safety Alert Seat.
