Ford has quietly starting delivering the 2018 Ford EcoSport, which is priced at $19,995. The subcompact crossover is now the entry-level crossover in Ford’s lineup and gives Ford a rival to several tiny crossovers, like the Honda HR-V, Toyota C-HR and Jeep Renegade.
The 2018 Ford EcoSport is available in four trim levels: S, SE, Titanium and SES. The top SES trim level is priced at $26,740. The S, SE and Titanium trim levels are powered by a turbocharged1.0L three-cylinder engine, while a 2.0L four-cylinder is optional. The SES model comes standard with the 2.0L. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and the 2.0L comes standard with all-wheel drive.
With the arrival of the 2018 EcoSport, Ford is one of the last automakers to enter the subcompact crossover segment. The segment is already hitting its stride with some models, like the Chevy Trax already getting a midlife refresh. With a standard 1.0L three-cylinder engine and some quirky details, like its old school rear swinging tailgate, we’ll have to wait and see what buyers think of Ford’s latest crossover.
