The 2018 Audi R8 V10 plus Coupe Competition package is slated to arrive next month, with a crazy price tag of $239,900 including the destination and gas guzzler fees. If you can afford that price, you’ll want to act fast, since only 10 units will be available in the US.
The 2018 Audi R8 V10 plus Coupe Competition package cuts weight and increases the amount of downforce compared to the other R8 models. Some of the weight savings is due to lighter carbon ceramic brake pads with titanium backing plates, which save 2.2 pounds and 20-inch fully milled wheels, which save another 26.4 pounds of weight.
The full carbon fiber aero kit increases downforce. At 93.2 mph, the downforce is doubled compared to an R8 V10 plus Coupe to 114.6 pounds. At 196 mph, the downforce is increased by 220.5 pounds to 551.2 pounds. Lastly the aero kit also increases the drag coefficient from 0.36 to 0.42.
All 10 versions of the 2018 Audi R8 V10 plus Coupe Competition package will be painted in Suzuka Gray with a black optic exterior package that includes a black grille surround and front lower air inlets and rear air outlets. Inside the interior is wrapped in more leather, a Bang & Olufsen sound system has been added and black racing shell seats with red contrast stitching.
