Jaguar believes that its first crossover – the F-Pace, may look like an SUV on the outside, but underneath it borrows many technologies from the F-Type sports car. Jaguar says that “we haven’t made any compromises or exceptions: the new F-Pace had to be a true Jaguar and had to deliver the dynamics DNA.”

Based on Jaguar’s new Lightweight Aluminum Architecture, the F-Pace will be light on its feet, but at the same time without sacrificing ride comfort. Jaguar says that the crossover’s double wishbone front suspension and Integral Link rear suspension are tuned to perfection to make the F-pace “incredibly responsive.”

The F-Pace will feature an electric steering system that incorporates the learnings from the F-Type to give greater feedback. The F-Pace will also feature torque vectoring technology that was first developed for the F-Type.

Jaguar has announced when the F-Pace will go on sale, other than that it will arrive in 2016. We’ll finally get to see the F-Pace next month when it debuts at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
