Passengers simply have to swipe their foot under the side doors to get them to open automatically. The tailgate will also use the same technology. There are some other big updates that we can expect, including a revised Stow ‘n Go seating system, an 8-4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and USB outlets for passengers in all three rows of seats. The 2017 Town & Country is also going to get an integrated vacuum like the Honda Odyssey.

We recently caught a 2017 Town & Country prototype driving around the streets of Los Angeles. You’ll notice the “EV” sticker on the back that signifies that this mule is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The standard Town & Country will be powered by a revised 3.6L V6 and a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The 2017 Town & Country is expected to go into production in February.
