Chevy has unveiled the hottest version yet of the all-new Camaro – the 2017 Camaro ZL1. With 640 horsepower on tap, a new 10-speed transmission and various other performance upgrades, the Camaro ZL1 is sure to satisfy muscle car fans.
Under the hood, the Camaro ZL1 is powered by the same LT4 6.2L supercharged V8 as the Corvette Z06 and Cadillac CTS-V. In the Camaro, the 6.2L V8 generates 640-hp and 640 lb-ft. of torque. The V8 can be mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or an all-new 10-speed automatic. Other upgrades include, the Magnetic Ride suspension, an electronic limited-slip differential, a Driver Mode Selector, Custom Launch Control and dual-mode exhaust. At 200 pounds lighter than the old ZL1 and with 60 more horsepower and 80 more lb-ft. of torque, the 2017 Camaro ZL1 has a stronger power-to-weight ratio.
