The SRX is out and in its place Cadillac has introduced the Cadillac XT5 crossover. The XT5 is the beginning of a new range of crossovers from Cadillac, with the next one being a smaller XT3. But back to the XT5. Is it a worthy replacement for the SRX? Here are the top five things you need to know about the 2017 Cadillac XT5:
3The interior is where its at

Cadillac’s latest interiors are the definition of American luxury. The seats are covered in high quality leather, the interior is quiet and there’s even real wood . Nearly every passenger in the XT5 will find the interior comfortable and spacious, plus the rear seat can slide forward and back to find the perfect amount of legroom. The only negative is that there is a little less headroom in the back, but the large panoramic roof does make it seem like there is more space for your head.
With the rear 40/20/40 seat up there is 30 cubic feet of cargo space, fold the rear seat down and you’ll have 63 cubic feet of space.
Cadillac’s CUE infotainment system continues to improve with each generation. It’s much faster than before and includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but it does take a minute or two to get used to the volume controls. My only complaint with the interior was the gear shifter, which takes a bit to get used to. It feels similar to BMW’s unit, but you have to throw it left to get it in reverse, try doing that when you’re in a hurry.
