The SRX is out and in its place Cadillac has introduced the Cadillac XT5 crossover. The XT5 is the beginning of a new range of crossovers from Cadillac, with the next one being a smaller XT3. But back to the XT5. Is it a worthy replacement for the SRX? Here are the top five things you need to know about the 2017 Cadillac XT5:
1It looks better than the old SRX
On the outside the XT5 looks a lot better than the dowdy SRX. Cadillac’s designers worked hard to give the XT5 a more expressive exterior, which also makes it look a bit sportier. Its more sculpted body and chiseled lines give the XT5 a more athletic look than most midsize crossovers.
From the front its large grille and uniquely shaped headlights are a major improvement and its sculpted sides suggest movement, but the rear could be a bit better. The lower portion of the XT5’s rear end falls a bit flat and isn’t quite what you’d expect based on how good it looks from the front.
