2017 Audi A4 ultra tops its rivals with a 37 mpg highway rating

Audi has unveiled the 2017 Audi A4 ultra, which has the highest city and highway mpg rating out of any of its direct competitors. The A4 ultra uses a newly revised combustion method and an even more efficient variant of the 2.0L turbocharged engine to achieve 27 mpg city and 37 mpg highway.

Audi has unveiled the 2017 Audi A4 ultra, which has the highest city and highway mpg rating out of any of its direct competitors. The A4 ultra uses a newly revised combustion method and an even more efficient variant of the 2.0L turbocharged engine to achieve 27 mpg city and 37 mpg highway.

The 2.0T engine generates 190-hp and 236 lb-ft. of torque, which is down 62 horsepower and 37 lb-ft. from the standard A4. It’s mated to a seven-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission and can reach 0-60 mph in 7.1 seconds. To help increase engine efficiency, the A4 ultra’s 2.0T engine utilizes a combustion method with shorter compression and longer-expansion phases. The compression ratio was increased from 9.6:1 to 11.7:1.

Pricing for the A4 ultra will start at $35,850.
