The “Maybach” name is officially back with the debut of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, which is debuting today at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
After going away in 2011, the Maybach name is now back as a new sub-brand, which will be used for more exclusive versions of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The first one is the Mercedes-Maybach S600, which is a longer and more luxurious version of the S-Class.

Passengers in the back will be able to stretch out more thanks to more headroom and 6.3-inches of more legroom, which is due to the increased wheelbase. Once you’re back there, there is also an on-board bar and the two seats can recline and have calf supports built in. The center console can also be equipped with two fold-out tables.
The Maybach S600 is powered by a 6.0L biturbo V12 with 535 horsepower and 612 lb-ft. of torque, which accelerates the large sedan from 0-62 mph in five seconds. A less powerful S500 model will also be available.
The Maybach S-Class will arrive in the U.S. in April 2015.
