2015 Smart ForTwo and ForFour Officially Unveiled

Smart has unveiled the 2015 Smart ForTwo and ForFour models. Mercedes-Benz, Smart’s parent company says that the new ForTwo and ForFour models offer more space, color and equipment than before.

Smart has unveiled the 2015 Smart ForTwo and ForFour models. Mercedes-Benz, Smart’s parent company says that the new ForTwo and ForFour models offer more space, color and equipment than before.
The 2015 ForTwo is completely revamped with the only similarity being its length, which measures 8.8 feet. The larger ForFour is longer at 11.5 feet with room for up to four passengers with more cargo space.

“In the planning phase we were clear that we wanted to retain the rear engine for the new smart, so as to continue to exploit the vehicles’ strengths to the full in the city,” explains Jörg Prigl, head of the product group Compact Cars at Mercedes-Benz. “On this basis, we then developed the new fortwo and forfour together with our partner, Renault.”

2015 Smart ForTwo

The overall design of the ForTwo and ForFour models was previewed last year by the Forjoy concept car. Compared to the last ForTwo, the exterior is a bit sportier with less windshield rake and the 100 mm wider track gives it a more planted look.

Inside the interior is updated with a 3.5-inch display on the instrument cluster, a JBL sound system and a new three-spoke steering wheel.

Both the ForTwo and ForFour’s engines are rear mounted and buyers will be able to choose between three, three-cylinder engines. The base model generates 60 horsepower, while the middle engine has 71 horsepower and the top turbocharged engine generates 90 horsepower. The engines can ben mated to either a five-speed manual transmission and the twinamic six-speed dual clutch transmission.
